Shincheonji: About Shincheonji
The Shincheonji Church of Jesus, also called the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, was founded in South Korea in 1984. A South Korean guy named Lee Man-hee, who’s still in his 80s, based that the Church. About the fact that Lee Man-hee put in position the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, nothing is known regarding his life. The Church, on the other hand, describes Lee Man-hee as the”Promised Pastor” listed in the Bible. Shincheonji representatives are certain that he is the only one to direct the favored shepherds into Heaven’s kingdom on Earth.
In South Korea, the Shincheonji Church of Jehovah has over 1,000 branches. The Congregation also claims to have more than 240,000 adherents throughout the globe. Because of this, the celebration is effectively a Christian offshoot. Shincheonji accounts for about 14-15 percent of South Korea’s Christian community. One of the most obvious features of Shincheonji is that its adherents claim Lee Man-hee is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. To the outside world, however, nothing is known of their religious beliefs.
On its official site, Shincheonji distinguishes itself as”the last and only kingdom and refuge of God on this world.” Their Church is focused on promising to surrender to Jesus by submitting their entire body in the manner of a candle. Shincheonji attracts people in many different forms, including sending agents to conventional Protestant religious communities. After that, they attempt to convince Protestant congregations to pursue their Church. However, it is a strategy which has prompted several churches to send alerts to hold Shincheonji representatives at bay. The sect’s failure to take protective actions to prevent the spread of this coronavirus also recently drew strong condemnation in the South Korean people.
Despite the term”Church of Jesus,” Shincheonji continues to have no affiliations with Christian organizations. “We are not a typical church that happens between the first advent of Jesus and the coming of what is prophesied in the book of Revelation,” the band’s introduction states in their official website. Shincheonji members assert that the creator, Lee Man-hee, was selected by Jesus to impart the real reality to every one of his shepherds. They are a rapidly expanding organization with tens of thousands of affiliates all over the world.
But, the church or even the brand new religious movement is often referred to as a doomsday cult. The church became the highlight of intense scrutiny during the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea. It was said that the outbreak of the corona virus had been situated in the city of Daegu, where a 61-year-old Shincheonji manhood infected other church members and contributed to the spread of the pandemic. Despite the negative comments, the church is extremely active in various social and cultural works. It participates in various volunteer efforts. It also runs various social action organizations.
